In Loving Memory of Elma Jeanne (Charron) Berg

This morning, my thoughts and prayers come from Miles City, MT, preparing to return to Pueblo.  As you probably know, my last visit to see my mother, a week ago last Monday, was blessed.  Mom passed into eternal life on that Tuesday.  We celebrated the Christian Rite of Burial yesterday, burying her beside Dad here in Miles City.  Deacon Dan Leetch and I will be driving back today.

As you can imagine, this was the most difficult homily I have ever had to give.  At 98, mom was our oldest, closest friend and confidant.  Since her passing, thoughts and memories have been piling in.  However, the simple reality for our family at this time is a quiet joy in loving—having been loved, learning more how to love, and simply being in love.

I have received so many messages of condolence, support, prayers, Mass intentions, and want you to know how meaningful these messages have been to me and my family.  Jeanne, my mother, was quite a lady.  You’ve heard me mention her a time or two.  With certainty of faith, which is beyond and stronger than any human reason, device or science, we know where she is now, she is with Jesus.

You may wish to access the obituary of Elma Jeanne (Charron) Berg and the live streamed Funeral Mass, concelebrated by four bishops, which is available for viewing by clicking the button below. I am looking forward to seeing you soon and wish you to know that Mom’s prayers for you and our diocese will continue, stronger than ever.  I look forward to seeing you soon.
